I eventually found out what number anniversary it was. Nineteenth. So there.

I have decided that America should have a national food . . . tomatoes. GUYS THESE THINGS ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!

In all seriousness though, tomatoes were originally cultivated in the Americas and spread throughout the world, becoming staples of foreign cuisine. Which consequently was brought back here. Go figure.
